KardiaChain is strengthening its leadership team with the strategic appointment of a new C-Level executive. Today we are pleased to welcome Astrid Dang as the company’s Chief Partnerships Officer. There are already 3 pillars contributing to business growth at KardiaChain regarding Marketing, Business Operation and Technology. However, there is still something missing. The organization is in need of a key person who handles all aspects of partnerships programs and external affairs.
“It is an honor for me to serve as KardiaChain's CPO,” said Astrid Dang. “I always aim to be a proactive companion in building a unicorn with a sufficient ecosystem which positively impacts millions of people's lives by disruptive technology and global business acumen.”
Astrid is a familiar face to the Kardian community and an expert in the crypto space, especially within her specific niche in Marketing & Business. We firmly believe her skills will drive us closer to our goal of further blockchain mass adoption. The female leader joined the KardiaChain team in Q1 2019 and has been a core member since then. Before joining KardiaChain, she had experience working at a leading Venture Capital and Marketing Agency located in Vietnam. Her expertise includes identifying ICO investment opportunities and planning massive marketing events and campaigns, building community management strategies for blockchain projects to enter the dynamic Vietnamese market, and obtaining connections in international exposure.
In 2021, Astrid Dang was amongst the 5 most influential women in Vietnam blockchain field by Saigontimes newspaper, together with Lynn Hoang - Binance Regional Director, Doan Kieu My - CMO Vinfast and Founder of Yellow Blocks.
To kickstart this special occasion, can you tell us a bit about your “backstory”? Why Did You Choose This Specific Career Path?"
Prior to KardiaChain Foundation, I have experienced working for top-notch Marketing Agencies specializing in Crypto, and now I am the leader of blockchain-related projects, hence my views have really become more objective than before. Marketing and business experience at blockchain agencies give me horizontal perspectives as it comes easily to me to recognize factors such as adhesives, connectors, market trends.
My professional crypto journey started four years ago in early 2018 - the year of the great asset inflation bubble and crypto believers who blindly bet on a seemingly revolutionary technology had to suffer a painful reality check. Then I began digging in more about blockchain and realized this evolution of the Internet is exactly what I’m looking for and decided to purchase a professional career in this fast-moving industry. My burning passion always lies in emerging technologies. This distinguishes me from those approaching cryptocurrency from an investor's standpoint.

4 years in this fast-moving industry are indeed an eye-opener experience with vast connections on a global scale. Days and nights of networking with every single project, regardless of timezone differences, online or offline meetings, were the factor that increased my knowledge and understanding of every single aspect of crypto development. Also, my time as the IT Business Analyst at the top software corporation in my country - FPT Software/ FPT corporation gave me more vertical views on the problems product makers face daily. The quality product is the value to all users, and the dream to make the innovative blockchain being a part of everyone's life is what drives us to be the pioneer in this field.
I know that there are many challenges needed to be conquered. With companions like my best brother Lew Tran as CTO and the experienced marketing team under CMO Bobby Pham, we will drive this KardiaChain boat successfully together.
Can you name the top Maven — Experts based on your own personal observation?
The top typical Mavens in Vietnam, in my personal view, include Co-founder Huy Nguyen - a teacher and my idol, one of the Top 10 young technology leaders at VNExpress’s CTO Summit 2021 for his contributions in new fields such as AI, robotics, blockchain, and Big Data. CTO Lew Tran - my brother-in-arms since Q1 2019 and I never stop admiring his ability; and obviously, Mr. Tri Pham, who leads the entire gamefi and metaverse segment of KardiaChain under the entity Whydah. And Bobby Pham is the marketing guru I need to learn from a lot.
I refine myself every day, together with leadership thinking and strategy. Still, I am ready whenever a mission comes to drive me to make the best out of myself to achieve that with the team.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you joined KardiaChain Dream Team?
In 2019, I was one of the first core team members to build KardiaChain from scratch, so I had a profound understanding of the company's vision and culture. KardiaChain's goal toward mass adoption really resonates with my personal values and reflects the kind of company culture I want to build.
To make the blockchain dream possible, I teamed up with some of the best people I’ve had the opportunity to work with. We successfully raised 19.2M from IEO on Gate in April 2020 to become a $380m-cap project and sustain consistently high performance up to now. Despite our visible achievements, little do people know about the waves of challenges that the “KAI” co-founders and founding members had to go through. Throughout high and low, 5 members remain until this day to witness KardiaChain rises up to beat all the odds.
Tough times happened, yet goodwill can overcome all that. As I have experienced the ups and downs of KardiaChain from day one, being around people whose vision for the world and whose values align with yours is a soulful experience.
In your opinion, what are the biggest challenges faced by women executives that aren’t typically faced by their male counterparts?
As a tech-savvy in generation Z, I actually don’t have much pressure when working in a blockchain field that men dominate. In contrast, I consider gender difference an edge as women have distinct approaches in building relationships, negotiating terms and closing deals, which is a very important part of uniting all chains in a decentralized world. In my opinion, there are not really too many women who have the right knowledge and capacity to thrive in the blockchain ecosystem, knowing that this field requires extensive time dedicated to researching and pro-actively going the extra mile to achieve goals.
We are thrilled by Astrid Dang's fantastic insights and inspiring stories. We greatly appreciate the time and the journey she has spent. KardiaChain welcomes Astrid Dang to the 3 KardiaChain pillars who are responsible for every daily operation of the company.
