Dear Kardians, 

After listening to further feedback from the KardiaChain Developer Community as well as new outside contestants and advisors, we revised the Pioneer Program Season 2 timeline and simplified the prize structure.

New Updates

Season 2 will officially begin on 17th March and run through 25th May

The total Prize Pool is $80,000 which will be divided among the winners.

And we have more exciting news…

Amazon Web Service (AWS Vietnam Branch) will also be sponsoring Season 2 of the KardiaChain Pioneer Program with their platform. 

AWS, known for its speed and security, will provide the best technical environment to bring your blockchain ideas to life.

AWS will support the Pioneer Program Season 2 by:

1. Providing Free AWS credits during the Building Phase of the Hackathon.
2. Providing AWS server + technical environment for developers to build up their projects.
3. Providing an additional Free 3 months of AWS Environment during Pilot Phase for the winning teams 
4. Training workshop and t-shirts by AWS for top 20 teams
5. Winners will also receive an Architecture Review Session by AWS Tech Department.

And that's not all.

As mentioned before, newly built projects with huge potential for future applications will have opportunities to be directly sponsored by our investment arm, Kardia Ventures, along with the listing of KRC20 tokens on KAIDEX, or NFT on Agoran marketplace to join the KardiaChain ecosystem, and better community exposure for growth.

And as mentioned before, all projects (win or lose) will be considered for additional funding, support, and advisory from our investment fund, Kardia Ventures.

Rules

Option #1 - New Projects

All applications will need to deploy a new project using the KardiaChain SDK Blockchain. Your project can be built solely on the KardiaChain network or a cross-chain project. 

Option #2 - Existing Blockchain Projects

Existing dApps and/or projects built on other protocols are welcome to join our competition so long as they port their code over to the KardiaChain Network (reference our Remix Tool documentation for help)

All projects must be built solely on the KardiaChain network or as a cross-chain project.

What is the difference between an existing project and a new project?

New Projects: Brand new Projects that are built from scratch at the start of the competition

Existing Projects: Existing Projects are those ported/converted by the developers from other blockchain protocols such as Celo, Fantom, Ethereum, or Binance.

Categories

Below are the following categories we're considering for the competition

• DeFi Dapp: AMM/DEX, Lending, Structured Finance, Yield Aggregators, Derivatives, Liquid staking, etc.
• NFT platform: NFT concepts, NFT Marketplaces, Inter-NFT applications, etc.
• GameFi & Metaverse: Play-To-Earn games, innovative game earning models, Metaverse applications.
• Tools & Analytics: DeFi protocols tools, Charting solutions, Dashboards, Analytics, developer toolkits, etc.
• Critical Infrastructure Projects: Oracles, etc.
• Social Goods and Community Engagement Projects: community forums, governance toolings, DAO projects, educational videos, dedicated medium articles, etc.
• Other Web 3.0 Applications: decentralized storage, decentralized social media/SocialFi, decentralized IP management, etc.
• Web 2 to Web 3 Tools: Tools that provide support and assistance helping Web 2 developers learn and build in Web 3

1. Submission phase: 17th March to 26th April

• Participants can register their project ideas on https://kardiachain.hackerearth.com/
• All submissions MUST include a Github link containing the project's codebase.
• All submissions should include a link to a 3-5 minute video presentation. The video should demonstrate a tutorial, explain the real-life benefits of the project, or show the project in practice.
• Kardiachain will shortlist the eligible projects between 12th April to 20th April. 
• We will pick a maximum of 10 projects for each Category (New and Existing) and announce them to the Kardiachain community. Projects will receive significant benefits to boost their development and growth. 
• Kardiachain Pioneer Workshop Session: Live workshop from the Kardiachain Lab team on how to build a Project on Kardiachain.
• Project requirements to be shortlisted: Smart contract quality on Kardiachain SDK; Project creativity in demanded categories; Project's performance (Daily Active Users, TVL, or Liquidity); Community support (Telegram, Twitter, etc.) applying with cross-chain projects.

2. Building phase: 2nd May - 29th May
   

• Participants to perfect the project with excellent features, distinguished product designs, and performance. Start building the community and user bases for your project.
• Voting Time: 15th May to 25th May

Out of these 20 projects, the top 10 will be awarded prizes based on Community voting + KAI's Judges.

• Product usability
• Practical application
• Code accuracy
• Security, progress
• Presentation of the project 

Project criteria:

- Real-life applications.

- Interoperability/Scalability.

- MUA (Monthly User Acquisition) acquisition.

New and existing prizes were separated to ensure fair competition between new and existing projects.

Prohibition:

• All project submissions must be original work that is completed during this hackathon.
• Teams can form ideas before the hackathon, but prototypes MUST be built during the hackathon.
• Non-KAI-related work, or work that was started prior to the official start of the hackathon, is not permitted.
• All work contributed and submitted must be from that project's team members.
• Prohibited topic: 
• No adult themes (18+) or Vietnamese fine customs and traditions violations.
• No gambling.
• No political discussion.

Requirements

• All team members must register full information for this hackathon when starting.
• All projects must be completed during the duration of this hackathon. 
• Using pre-existing open-source tools and libraries is permitted.
• Read all requirements, submissions guidelines, and judging criteria carefully before submitting a project.
